If you happen to be in Massachusetts for the holiday weekend, you can stop by MASS MoCA, a center for performing and visual arts in North Adams (wherever that is). There you can gaze in wonderment upon Dave Cole's work "The Knitting Machine," in which two full-sized John Deere excavators, with ersatz knitting needles attached, commence to knit a giant American flag.
